Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2017 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European & Orientalist Art, which included the work Soleil Couchant À Portejoie by Hippolyte Camille Delpy. The price achieved of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,473.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Other works by Hippolyte Camille Delpy have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2020 the work July was auctioned for GBP 23,750.00 (€ 26,530.87).
