Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2003 Christies in New York held the auction Post War and Contemporary Art, which included the work Beach #115 by Hilo Chen. The price achieved of USD 11,352.50 (€ 6,880.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hilo Chen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beach 96 in October 2020 with an auction result of EUR 107,100.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2003 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post War and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Beach #115 von Hilo Chen zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 11.352,50 (€ 6.880,30) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hilo Chen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beach 96 im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 107.100,00.
