In December 2021 Christies in New York held the auction First Open Online: Post War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Foam by Hideaki Kawashima. The »bidding war« ended at USD 22,500.00 (€ 19,879.84), 50% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hideaki Kawashima - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Grumble, which sold at auction in November 2007 for USD 58,600.00 (€ 39,896.51).

Im Dezember 2021 führte Christies in New York die Auktion First Open Online: Post War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Foam von Hideaki Kawashima zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 19.879,84) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Hideaki Kawashima mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Grumble beobachtet, die im November 2007 für USD 58.600,00 (€ 39.896,51) versteigert wurde.
