Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Hideaki Kawashima achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in May 2021. In the Contemporary Showcase: Kawaii Pop auction, the work Idle sold for HKD 107,100.00 (€ 11,321.30) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hideaki Kawashima - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Grumble, which sold at auction in November 2007 for USD 58,600.00 (€ 39,896.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hideaki Kawashima erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Showcase: Kawaii Pop wurde die Arbeit Idle für HKD 107.100,00 (€ 11.321,30) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 50.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Hideaki Kawashima mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Grumble beobachtet, die im November 2007 für USD 58.600,00 (€ 39.896,51) versteigert wurde.
