Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A river port in a mountainous Rhenish landscape with figures unloading boats by Herman Saftleven was sold in the Old Masters Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2021. The price achieved of GBP 12,600.00 (€ 14,776.11) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Herman Saftleven achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscape With Travelers in January 2008 with an auction result of USD 265,000.00 (€ 178,559.40).
