A top price for Herman Saftleven - as previously expected
In January 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings Including European Works of Art, which included the work Landscape With Travelers by Herman Saftleven. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 265,000.00 (€ 178,559.40) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Landscape With Travelers is the most expensive artwork by Herman Saftleven that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Januar 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Important Old Master Paintings Including European Works of Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape With Travelers von Herman Saftleven zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 265.000,00 (€ 178.559,40) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Landscape With Travelers das teuerste Kunstwerk von Herman Saftleven, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
