Auction result well in line with expectations
In July last year Sothebys in London held the auction Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries, which included the work A Rhine landscape, with boats and figures in the foreground by Herman Saftleven. The price achieved of GBP 7,560.00 (€ 9,027.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Herman Saftleven achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscape With Travelers in January 2008 with an auction result of USD 265,000.00 (€ 178,559.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Rhine landscape, with boats and figures in the foreground von Herman Saftleven zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 7.560,00 (€ 9.027,98) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Herman Saftleven erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Landscape With Travelers im Januar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 265.000,00 (€ 178.559,40).
