Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Herman Saftleven could be acquired at Christies in New York in April 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Masters auction, the work A Rhenish Landscape With A Village Festival changed hands for USD 112,500.00 (€ 93,516.21) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 120,000.00 – 150,000.00. Other works by Herman Saftleven have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in January 2008 by the work Landscape With Travelers at USD 265,000.00 (€ 178,559.40).
