Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Rhenish landscape at sunset by Herman Saftleven was sold in the The Martin Feldstein Collection: Dutch Art in the Golden Age auction at Christies in New York in October 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 35,000.00 (€ 30,050.66) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Herman Saftleven have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape With Travelers in January 2008 with an auction result of USD 265,000.00 (€ 178,559.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A Rhenish landscape at sunset von Herman Saftleven wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion The Martin Feldstein Collection: Dutch Art in the Golden Age bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 30.050,66) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Herman Saftleven auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape With Travelers im Januar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 265.000,00 (€ 178.559,40).
