Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Thomas Richter, three-quarter-length, seated in a black suit, with a paper in his right hand by Henry William Pickersgill was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 900.00 (€ 1,328.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Henry William Pickersgill have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work L'improvisatrice in July this year with an auction result of GBP 10,240.00 (€ 11,946.98).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 900,00 (€ 1.328,68) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
