In the THE HOUSE SALE auction, the work Portrait of a man said to be John Hill Hawkstone, half-length, in a black coat and white cravatte sold for USD 3,585.00 (€ 3,628.18) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry William Pickersgill - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work L'improvisatrice, which sold at auction in July this year for GBP 10,240.00 (€ 11,946.98).
