The work Sir Walter Raleigh at Durham House by Henry Wallis was sold in the British and European Art auction at Bonhams in London in November 2020. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,805.00 (€ 3,131.33), 40% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Wallis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dr Johnson At Cave'S, The Publisher. Johnson, Too Ragged To Appear At Cave'S Table, Has A Plate Of Victuals Sent To Him Behind The Screen. Vide Boswell in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 39,650.00 (€ 47,939.83).
