The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,805.00 (€ 3,131.33), 40% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Wallis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dr Johnson At Cave'S, The Publisher. Johnson, Too Ragged To Appear At Cave'S Table, Has A Plate Of Victuals Sent To Him Behind The Screen. Vide Boswell in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 39,650.00 (€ 47,939.83).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.805,00 (€ 3.131,33) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
