This artwork by Henry Wallis achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2014. In the The Neil Wilson Collection: A Romantic Vision auction, the work Study of a fawn (illustrated); and A study of female heads sold for GBP 1,062.50 (€ 1,364.73) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Wallis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dr Johnson At Cave'S, The Publisher. Johnson, Too Ragged To Appear At Cave'S Table, Has A Plate Of Victuals Sent To Him Behind The Screen. Vide Boswell in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 39,650.00 (€ 47,939.83).

Johnson, Too Ragged To Appear At Cave'S Table, Has A Plate Of Victuals Sent To Him Behind The Screen. Vide Boswell im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 39.650,00 (€ 47.939,83).
