Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work View of the Temple of Karnak from the Sacred Lake by Henry Roderick Newman was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,779.58). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Roderick Newman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Porta Dei Canonici, Duomo, Florence in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 75,000.00 (€ 70,901.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit View of the Temple of Karnak from the Sacred Lake von Henry Roderick Newman im April 2012 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 5.000,00 (€ 3.779,58) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry Roderick Newman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Porta Dei Canonici, Duomo, Florence im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 70.901,87).
