Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Flower Market, Florence by Henry Roderick Newman was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 18,750.00 (€ 13,792.85). Admittedly, works by Henry Roderick Newman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Porta Dei Canonici, Duomo, Florence in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 75,000.00 (€ 70,901.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Flower Market, Florence von Henry Roderick Newman im Oktober 2013 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 18.750,00 (€ 13.792,85) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henry Roderick Newman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Porta Dei Canonici, Duomo, Florence im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 70.901,87).
