Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2008 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures, which included the work Portrait of Fanny Frith, youngest daughter of William Powell Frith, R.A., half-length, in an oval mount by Henry Nelson O'Neil. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,741.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Nelson O'Neil achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Home Again, 1858 in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 553,750.00 (€ 877,761.92).
