In July last year Christies in London held the auction The Isabel Goldsmith Collection: Selected Pre-Raphaelite and Symbolist Art, which included the work Returning home by Henry Nelson O'Neil. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 13,860.00 (€ 16,551.30), 73% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Nelson O'Neil achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Home Again, 1858 in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 553,750.00 (€ 877,761.92).

Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion The Isabel Goldsmith Collection: Selected Pre-Raphaelite and Symbolist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Returning home von Henry Nelson O'Neil zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 13.860,00 (€ 16.551,30) und damit 73% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry Nelson O'Neil erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Home Again, 1858 im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 553.750,00 (€ 877.761,92).
