In September 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Paintings, which included the work Spring drawing away winter by Henry John Stock. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,200.00 (€ 6,163.81), 40% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry John Stock achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Uplifting of Psyche 'By the help of a divinity not our own' - Virgil in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 79,311.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Im September 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Spring drawing away winter von Henry John Stock zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.200,00 (€ 6.163,81) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry John Stock erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Uplifting of Psyche 'By the help of a divinity not our own' - Virgil im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 56.250,00 (€ 79.311,79).
