Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Indian on Horseback by Henry F. Farny was sold in the Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction at Christies in New York in December 2008. The price achieved of USD 410,500.00 (€ 294,920.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry F. Farny - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work In Pastures New, which sold at auction in December 2008 for USD 1,426,500.00 (€ 1,024,858.11).

Die Arbeit Indian on Horseback von Henry F. Farny wurde im Dezember 2008 in der Auktion Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 410.500,00 (€ 294.920,61) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben worden.
