It achieved a price of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 19,519.92), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Alken - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work British Start For The Derby, 1847; And Cossack Winning The Derby, 1847 (Two Works), which sold at auction in December 2008 for USD 80,500.00 (€ 57,834.61).
