The work Full Cry And Gone Away; A Pair Of Paintings by Henry Alken was sold in the Old Master and 19th Century European Paintings and Drawings, including Property from the Estate of Giancarlo Baroni auction at Sothebys in New York in February 2013. The price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,645.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Henry Alken have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work British Start For The Derby, 1847; And Cossack Winning The Derby, 1847 (Two Works) in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 80,500.00 (€ 57,834.61).
