Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Return from the Hunt by Henry Alken was auctioned at Bonhams in February this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 357.00 (€ 336.73) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 200.00 – 400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Alken achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British Start For The Derby, 1847; And Cossack Winning The Derby, 1847 (Two Works) in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 80,500.00 (€ 57,834.61).
