Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Return from the Hunt by Henry Alken was auctioned at Bonhams in February this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 357.00 (€ 336.73) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 200.00 – 400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Alken achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British Start For The Derby, 1847; And Cossack Winning The Derby, 1847 (Two Works) in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 80,500.00 (€ 57,834.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Return from the Hunt von Henry Alken kam im Februar diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 357,00 (€ 336,73) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 200,00 – 400,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry Alken erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit British Start For The Derby, 1847; And Cossack Winning The Derby, 1847 (Two Works) im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 80.500,00 (€ 57.834,61).
