Auction result well in line with expectations
The work La Seine À Suresnes by Henri Rousseau was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 545,000.00 (€ 400,558.58) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Rousseau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Flamants in May this year with an auction result of USD 43,535,000.00 (€ 40,862,586.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit La Seine À Suresnes von Henri Rousseau wurde im November 2013 in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 500.000,00 – 700.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 545.000,00 (€ 400.558,58) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henri Rousseau erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les Flamants im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.535.000,00 (€ 40.862.586,82).
