The result of EUR 15,000.00 was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hendrikus van de Sande Bakhuyzen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sorting the catch on the beach of Scheveningen in April 2003 with an auction result of EUR 169,950.00.
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Resting cattle in a meadow von Hendrikus van de Sande Bakhuyzen kam im Mai 2012 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 15.000,00 entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hendrikus van de Sande Bakhuyzen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sorting the catch on the beach of Scheveningen im April 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 169.950,00.
