Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings, which included the work Dutch skaters On A Frozen Stream On The Outskirts Of A Village by Hendrikus van de Sande Bakhuyzen. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 35,000.00 (€ 40,920.68), 17% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Hendrikus van de Sande Bakhuyzen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sorting the catch on the beach of Scheveningen in April 2003 with an auction result of EUR 169,950.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2016 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 19th Century European Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dutch skaters On A Frozen Stream On The Outskirts Of A Village von Hendrikus van de Sande Bakhuyzen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 40.920,68) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hendrikus van de Sande Bakhuyzen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sorting the catch on the beach of Scheveningen im April 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 169.950,00.
