Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

The »bidding war« ended at EUR 61,000.00 22% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hendrikus van de Sande Bakhuyzen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sorting the catch on the beach of Scheveningen, which sold at auction in April 2003 for EUR 169,950.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Figures on a frozen stream on the outskirts of a village von Hendrikus van de Sande Bakhuyzen wurde im April 2010 in der Auktion Old Masters and 19th Century Art bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 61.000,00 und damit 22% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Hendrikus van de Sande Bakhuyzen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sorting the catch on the beach of Scheveningen beobachtet, die im April 2003 für EUR 169.950,00 versteigert wurde.
