Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a gentleman, half-length, in black with a white collar; and Portrait of a lady, half-length, in black with a white collar and bonnet by Hendrick Cornelisz. van Vliet was sold in the Old Masters and British Paintings auction at Christies in London in December 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,239.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hendrick Cornelisz. van Vliet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Interior Of The Oude Kerk At Delft in January 2015 with an auction result of USD 317,000.00 (€ 280,779.45).

Die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, half-length, in black with a white collar; and Portrait of a lady, half-length, in black with a white collar and bonnet von Hendrick Cornelisz. van Vliet wurde im Dezember 2011 in der Auktion Old Masters and British Paintings bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.239,68) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
