It achieved a price of GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,139.43), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 46%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Heinrich Aldegrever achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lazarus begging for Crumbs from Dives's Table (Luke 16:19-31) in January 2000 with an auction result of USD 156,500.00 (€ 160,397.66).

Die Arbeit Hercules fighting the Hydra of Lernea, from 'The Labours of Hercules' von Heinrich Aldegrever kam im Dezember 2020 bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.020,00 (€ 1.139,43) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 46%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Heinrich Aldegrever erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lazarus begging for Crumbs from Dives's Table (Luke 16:19-31) im Januar 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 156.500,00 (€ 160.397,66).
