The work Natsu yosooi no musume (Girl in Summer Costume) by Hashiguchi Goyo was sold in the Fine Japanese and Korean Works of Art auction at Bonhams in March this year. It achieved a price of USD 4,462.50 (€ 4,104.58), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 28%. Admittedly, works by Hashiguchi Goyo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Taisho era (1912-1926), 1915 in September 2020 with an auction result of USD 40,075.00 (€ 34,199.52).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Natsu yosooi no musume (Girl in Summer Costume) von Hashiguchi Goyo wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Fine Japanese and Korean Works of Art bei Bonhams versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 4.462,50 (€ 4.104,58) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 28%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hashiguchi Goyo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Taisho era (1912-1926), 1915 im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 40.075,00 (€ 34.199,52).
