In June 2020 Christies in London held the auction From Artist to Woodblock: Japanese Prints, which included the work Evening Moon Over Kobe (Kobe no yoitzuki) by Hashiguchi Goyo. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,375.00 (€ 2,615.65), 58% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hashiguchi Goyo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Taisho era (1912-1926), 1915 in September 2020 with an auction result of USD 40,075.00 (€ 34,199.52).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2020 führte Christies in London die Auktion From Artist to Woodblock: Japanese Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit Evening Moon Over Kobe (Kobe no yoitzuki) von Hashiguchi Goyo zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.375,00 (€ 2.615,65) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hashiguchi Goyo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Taisho era (1912-1926), 1915 im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 40.075,00 (€ 34.199,52).
