Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Six Studies Of Women In Paris, 1960S by Harold Chapman was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,875.00 (€ 3,476.09). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Harold Chapman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Group Of Views Of The King'S Road, London, 1960S, which sold at auction in November 2008 for GBP 7,250.00 (€ 8,765.79).
