Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Harold Chapman was auctioned at Bonhams in March this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 573.75 (€ 652.75). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Harold Chapman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Group Of Views Of The King'S Road, London, 1960S in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 7,250.00 (€ 8,765.79).
