Description
HAJIME SORAYAMA (B. 1947) Sexy Robot - 1/3 Scale Aluminum_A incised with artist signature and number '4/10 Sorayama' (on the base); incised again with artist signature 'Sorayama' (on the underside of the robot) aluminum 13 1 ⁄ 2 x 10 1 ⁄ 2 x 9 3 ⁄ 4 in. (34.3 x 26.7 x 24.8 cm.) Executed in 2016. This work is number four from an edition of ten, and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
Auction result well in line with expectations
In July last year Christies in New York held the auction Trespassing, which included the work Sexy Robot - 1/3 Scale Aluminum_A by Hajime Sorayama. The price achieved of USD 30,240.00 (€ 29,641.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hajime Sorayama achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sexy Robot, Life Size Seating Model B in December 2021 with an auction result of HKD 5,750,000.00 (€ 651,307.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Trespassing durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sexy Robot - 1/3 Scale Aluminum_A von Hajime Sorayama zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 30.240,00 (€ 29.641,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hajime Sorayama erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sexy Robot, Life Size Seating Model B im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.750.000,00 (€ 651.307,65).
