Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Gwyther Irwin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in September 2018. In the Made in Britain auction, the work Wave Rave No. Ii sold for GBP 20,000.00 (€ 22,462.57) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gwyther Irwin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work West Of Thornton, which sold at auction in July 2007 for GBP 45,600.00 (€ 67,726.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gwyther Irwin erzielte im September 2018 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Made in Britain wurde die Arbeit Wave Rave No. Ii für GBP 20.000,00 (€ 22.462,57) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Gwyther Irwin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit West Of Thornton beobachtet, die im Juli 2007 für GBP 45.600,00 (€ 67.726,53) versteigert wurde.
