Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Room At The Top by Gwyther Irwin was sold in the Modern & Post-War British Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in June 2018. The price achieved of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,008.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gwyther Irwin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work West Of Thornton in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 45,600.00 (€ 67,726.53).

Die Arbeit Room At The Top von Gwyther Irwin wurde im Juni 2018 in der Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 12.008,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gwyther Irwin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit West Of Thornton im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 45.600,00 (€ 67.726,53).
