Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March last year Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary Evening Auction, which included the work Portrait de Monsieur R. (Reyre) by Gustave Caillebotte. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 6,000,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 6,682,900.00 (€ 7,923,330.10). Admittedly, works by Gustave Caillebotte have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Jeune homme à sa fenêtre in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 53,030,000.00 (€ 46,983,255.07).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Evening Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait de Monsieur R. (Reyre) von Gustave Caillebotte zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 6.682.900,00 (€ 7.923.330,10) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gustave Caillebotte auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Jeune homme à sa fenêtre im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 53.030.000,00 (€ 46.983.255,07).
