In May 2013 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Seven-character Couplet in Running Script by Guo Shangxian. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 47,500.00 (€ 4,710.50), 58% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Guo Shangxian have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Poem In Running Script in May 2017 with an auction result of HKD 224,200.00 (€ 25,600.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2013 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Seven-character Couplet in Running Script von Guo Shangxian zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 47.500,00 (€ 4.710,50) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Guo Shangxian auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Poem In Running Script im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 224.200,00 (€ 25.600,62).
