It achieved a price of HKD 400,000.00 (€ 47,071.70), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 33%. Admittedly, works by Guo Moruo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy In Xingshu in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 2,080,000.00 (€ 214,142.06).

Die Arbeit Calligraphy In Xingshu von Guo Moruo kam im Oktober 2016 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 400.000,00 (€ 47.071,70) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 33%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Guo Moruo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy In Xingshu im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.080.000,00 (€ 214.142,06).
