In July 2020 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings, which included the work Calligraphy by Guo Moruo. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 325,000.00 (€ 35,608.12), 63% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Guo Moruo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy In Xingshu in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 2,080,000.00 (€ 214,142.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 63 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2020 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy von Guo Moruo zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 325.000,00 (€ 35.608,12) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Guo Moruo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy In Xingshu im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.080.000,00 (€ 214.142,06).
