Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
When the work Poem In Running Script by Guo Lin was auctioned at China Guardian in Hong Kong in November 2016, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 10,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than five times as high at HKD 53,100.00 (€ 6,470.59). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Guo Lin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Couplet Calligraphy in Running Script, which sold at auction in May 2018 for HKD 175,000.00 (€ 19,119.54).
Kunstwerk zum Fünffachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Poem In Running Script von Guo Lin im November 2016 bei China Guardian in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 10.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 53.100,00 (€ 6.470,59) mehr als fünfmal so hoch. Für andere Arbeiten von Guo Lin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Couplet Calligraphy in Running Script beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für HKD 175.000,00 (€ 19.119,54) versteigert wurde.
