Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work Yavapai Point by Gunnar Widforss for USD 14,100.00 (€ 16,676.52). This price was achieved in the auction CALIFORNIA, WESTERN AND AMERICAN PAINTINGS at Christies in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Gunnar Widforss have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Grand Canyon in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 121,500.00 (€ 143,177.00).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2001 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Yavapai Point von Gunnar Widforss für USD 14.100,00 (€ 16.676,52) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion CALIFORNIA, WESTERN AND AMERICAN PAINTINGS bei Christies in Los Angeles erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gunnar Widforss auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Grand Canyon im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 121.500,00 (€ 143.177,00).
