Admittedly, works by Gunnar Widforss have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Grand Canyon in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 121,500.00 (€ 143,177.00).

Die Arbeit Desert Thundercloud, Landscape von Gunnar Widforss kam im Juli 2020 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 21.233,23) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 39%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gunnar Widforss auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Grand Canyon im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 121.500,00 (€ 143.177,00).
