Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Gunnar Widforss could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in July 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the From Coast to Coast: Property from a Private Florida Collection auction, the work Cypress Trees, Point Lobos, Carmel changed hands for USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,547.99) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gunnar Widforss achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Grand Canyon in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 121,500.00 (€ 143,177.00).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Gunnar Widforss konnte im Juli 2020 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion From Coast to Coast: Property from a Private Florida Collection wechselte die Arbeit Cypress Trees, Point Lobos, Carmel für USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.547,99) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00.
