In October 2020 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California and Western Art40th Anniversary Auction, which included the work Redwoods by Gunnar Widforss. The »bidding war« ended at USD 11,325.00 (€ 9,723.53), 42% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gunnar Widforss achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Grand Canyon in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 121,500.00 (€ 143,177.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 42 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California and Western Art40th Anniversary Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Redwoods von Gunnar Widforss zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 11.325,00 (€ 9.723,53) und damit 42% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gunnar Widforss erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Grand Canyon im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 121.500,00 (€ 143.177,00).
