In April 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work The Old Archway by Gunnar Widforss for USD 937.50 (€ 602.20). This price was achieved in the auction California, Western And American Paintings, Drawings And Sculpture at Christies in Beverly Hills and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gunnar Widforss achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Grand Canyon in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 121,500.00 (€ 143,177.00).
