Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2008 Christies in Beverly Hills held the auction California, Western and American Paintings, Drawings, and Sculpture, which included the work Half Dome, Yosemite by Gunnar Widforss. It changed hands for a price of USD 17,500.00 (€ 13,799.09) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gunnar Widforss achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Grand Canyon in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 121,500.00 (€ 143,177.00).

Im Oktober 2008 führte Christies in Beverly Hills die Auktion California, Western and American Paintings, Drawings, and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Half Dome, Yosemite von Gunnar Widforss zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 17.500,00 (€ 13.799,09) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gunnar Widforss erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Grand Canyon im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 121.500,00 (€ 143.177,00).
