The »bidding war« ended at GBP 998.75 (€ 1,460.99), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Guido Odierna - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fishing vessels off Capri at dusk; and Waves breaking on the rocks, Capri, which sold at auction in September 2006 for GBP 3,360.00 (€ 4,956.71).

Die Arbeit Capri Coast At Dusk von Guido Odierna wurde im Januar 2004 in der Auktion At Home - British & Continental Pictures and Works on Paper bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 998,75 (€ 1.460,99) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Guido Odierna mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fishing vessels off Capri at dusk; and Waves breaking on the rocks, Capri beobachtet, die im September 2006 für GBP 3.360,00 (€ 4.956,71) versteigert wurde.
