The »bidding war« ended at GBP 998.75 (€ 1,460.99), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Guido Odierna - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fishing vessels off Capri at dusk; and Waves breaking on the rocks, Capri, which sold at auction in September 2006 for GBP 3,360.00 (€ 4,956.71).
