Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Mythos of Lost Dynasties: H29; & The Mythos of Lost Dynasties: H42 by Gu Wenda was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,867.04). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gu Wenda achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Exclamatory Word And Bound Human Innards Series: He! He! He! (Triptych) in April 2015 with an auction result of HKD 3,680,000.00 (€ 425,300.13).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Mythos of Lost Dynasties: H29; & The Mythos of Lost Dynasties: H42 von Gu Wenda im September 2020 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.875,00 (€ 5.867,04) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gu Wenda erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Exclamatory Word And Bound Human Innards Series: He! He! He! (Triptych) im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.680.000,00 (€ 425.300,13).
