Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mythos of Lost Dynasties Series J No. 12 by Gu Wenda was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Art auction at POLY in October 2019. The price achieved of HKD 47,200.00 (€ 5,394.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gu Wenda achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Exclamatory Word And Bound Human Innards Series: He! He! He! (Triptych) in April 2015 with an auction result of HKD 3,680,000.00 (€ 425,300.13).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 47.200,00 (€ 5.394,89) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gu Wenda erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Exclamatory Word And Bound Human Innards Series: He! He! He! (Triptych) im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.680.000,00 (€ 425.300,13).
