Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Bonhams held the auction Michael Goedhuis | Brush and Bronze, which included the work Forest of Stone Stele #16, 2000, by Gu Wenda. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,186.78) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gu Wenda achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Exclamatory Word And Bound Human Innards Series: He! He! He! (Triptych) in April 2015 with an auction result of HKD 3,680,000.00 (€ 425,300.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Michael Goedhuis | Brush and Bronze durch, in der auch die Arbeit Forest of Stone Stele #16, 2000, von Gu Wenda zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.020,00 (€ 1.186,78) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gu Wenda erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Exclamatory Word And Bound Human Innards Series: He! He! He! (Triptych) im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.680.000,00 (€ 425.300,13).
